1981 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

The personality of the cool vintage comes through in spades in the 1981 Cabernet Sauvignon. Although texturally quite polished and impeccable in its balance, the 1981 remains a bit compact and linear in style. In any other setting, it would probably be magnificent but here, next to so many icons, the 1981 remains only outstanding.
