Tasting notes
Bottled 2013 (in effect a late bottled vintage). 100% Grenache Noir and a blend of different barrels. Walnuts on the nose. Very sweet and round. Drying a little bit with lots of vitality. Still racy. Clean. (JR)

The 1949 Rivesaltes has an elegant bouquet with beautiful scents of ripe strawberry, orange zest, burnt toffee and licorice. It shows superb clarity and demonstrates a little more intensity than the 1945. The palate is medium-bodied and feels quite thick in the mouth. Strong licorice aromas form the basis of this Vin Doux Naturel with a slight viscosity on the honeyed, sandalwood-infused finish. This is one of the best offerings at the moment and comes highly recommended. Drink now-2025+
Bright fox red with yellow rim. Mid fox red. Lightish and simpler than some. Great vitality and freshness. Smells of butter and butterscotch. Racy and transparent. Just a little astringent on the finish. (JR)
