Tasting notes

Tasting notes
Score 96/100 · Robert Parker, Jan 2000

Slightly sweeter, riper, and richer when juxtaposed with the 1961, the ruby/garnet-colored 1959 exhibits a roasted character in the nose, as well as more fruit, and a spicy, fleshy finish. Medium-bodied, with supple, herb-tinged, curranty flavors, this low-acid wine will not improve. Owners of the 1959 should make plans for its consumption. Last tasted 3/95
