Tasting notes
The 2009 Beaune Boucherottes comes across as regal and sophisticated. Firm yet beautifully integrated tannins frame an expressive core of fruit in this striking wine. The warmth of the year has given the wine an extra dimension of fleshiness that is hugely attractive. Floral notes add lift to the light, airy finish.

Violets, a bit of leather, black cherries, firm tannins. This is Burgundy with a hint Bordeaux. Lipsmacking. (RH)
(racked in April) Good full red-ruby. Nose combines some superripe notes with hints of pepper, fresh herbs and flinty minerality. Then ripe, broad and sweet on the palate, with good lift to the black cherry and spicy oak flavors. Finishes supple, pliant and very persistent, with suave tannins and a saline nuance.
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
