Tasting notes
Arrow & Branch's 2015 Cabernet Franc-based Red Wine is plump, juicy and absolutely delicious, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Expressive Cabernet Franc aromatics add brightness to the silky, red-toned fruit in this impeccably balanced, harmonious wine. The blend is 55% Cabernet Franc, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.

A blend of 55% Cabernet Franc, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot, the 2015 Bordeaux Blend is slightly more focused and reserved, with classic notes of currants, Asian spice, licorice and dried soil/earth. Medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, and focused on the palate, it has present tannin, notable freshness/purity, and a great finish. This cuvee comes from the Stagecoach and Lewelling Vineyards and spent 20 months in 75% new French oak. There are a tiny 250 cases. These beautiful wines are made by Jennifer Williams (formerly of Spottswoode) and come mostly from their estate vineyard in Coombsville. I was able to taste these wines on two separate occasions and they showed beautifully both times.
