As it often is, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard is rich, powerful and supple, with a hugely appealing combination of silky tannins and dense, concentrated fruit. The flavors are a bit darker than usual - which is the vintage speaking - but all the elements are in the right place. (AG)

From the valley floor, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage and shows its multidimensional aromatics of violets, forest floor, blueberry and blackberry liqueur. It is backward, vibrant and young – very much in the 2013 classic style of enormous richness, length and overall weight. However, it cuts a suave and discreet feel across the palate. This is a stunner that won’t be ready for a good 4-5 years and could last as long as 40 or more.
Here is a perfect wine with incredible aromatics showing lilacs, violets and roses. Slate, blueberry and blackberry undertones. Full-bodied, powerful and intense. Blueberry and hot stones. Incredible depth and intensity. This needs at least three to five years to come together. The mountain fruit delivers such structure and richness.
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard is the biggest and richest of Dana's 2013s. Ample and textured on the palate, the 2013 exudes three-dimensional texture and intensity in all of its facets. This is the least developed of the three Cabernets at this stage. Chocolate, plums, black cherries and smoke melt into a plush finish.
