The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny is wonderfully alive and layered in the glass. Hard candy, freshly cut flowers and sweet spices are super-expressive . The 2012 is translucent and beautifully perfumed throughout, with lovely balance and tons of class. Simply put, this is a delicious village-level Burgundy.

Deep cherry red. Lots of spice and dark-red fruit. Dry, tight, not giving much away. Savoury and dark on the finish, too. Not typically Chambolle? (JH)
(just 15 hectoliters per hectare produced; aging in foudre): Deep red-ruby. Musky blackberry and violet on the slightly high-toned nose. Supple on the palate, with a gamey nuance to go with the dark berry fruit. A bit liqueur-like on the end, but more saline than sweet. Good intensity here.
Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, spices and licorice flow across the palate in Bruno Clair's 2012 Chambolle Musigny Les Veroilles. Round and supple throughout, the Veroilles offers tons of appeal. I am sure the Veroilles will only improve in bottle, but there is an immediacy to the wine that will tempt readers from the outset. What a gorgeous wine this is.
