Tasting notes
Bright red-ruby. Captivating dark raspberry and floral aromas. Dense yet delicate and lacy, with lovely juicy acidity giving the peppery red fruit flavors terrific energy and thrust for the year. A much more feminine style of Volnay than the Fremiets or Caillerets. Finishes pure, peppery, brisk and very long, with lovely lingering perfume.

Good moderately saturated ruby-red. Subdued but fresh aromas of black raspberry, minerals and mint. Lush, large-scaled and rich but classically dry and light on its feet. This elegantly styled, harmonious Volnay, from an enclave within Caillerets, finishes with very fine tannins, juicy fruit, and lovely aromatic persistence.
Relatively shy nose and quite severe. Bone dry with lots of tannin and grunt. This wine demands that you wait a while and is not going to try at all hard to charm. Solid and correct, with lots of extract. (JR)
