Tasting notes
The 2015 Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Auslese Versteigerung is beautifully clear, precise, fine and fresh on the nose; there are fine fruit and highly delicate flinty aromas. This Auslese has great finesse and elegance on the palate, is weightless and intense at the same time. The refreshing, mouth-watering and stimulating finish is pure, precise and salty. In fact I cannot imagine a finer, even more refreshing or digestible Auslese in this style. The 2015 was auctioned for a reasonable 162.44 Euros at the Weinversteigerung in Trier in September 2016. It is not as rich and round as the Scharzhofberger Auslese Goldkapsel but a highly digestible and galvanizing masterpiece of finesse and precision. Egon Müller couldn't have done it any better.

It’s hard to single out individual aromas from this complex fragrance. The nose invites to explore the many facets of fine fresh fruit, subtle nuances of spice and minerality and a gentle floral notion which all add to an extraordinary sensory experience. On the palate the Braune Kupp excels with a delightful interaction of vibrant acidity and delicious residual sweetness, putting grace and finesse above overwhelming opulence. An Auslese as racy as only the Saar can produce. (MS)
