Medium straw-yellow, a bit lighter than the Chevalier. Very ripe peach, pineapple and clove oil on the deeply pitched nose. Large-scaled, chewy and rich, with a liqueur-like mirabelle quality complemented by a note of nut oil. This voluminous, palate-staining wine finishes tactile and broad. There's just a single barrel of this juice in 2012, vs. a normal two or two and a half. I'd love to see this in a blind tasting alongside some monster-car California chardonnays.
