Score 15/20 · Jancis Robinson MW, Jun 2017

The 1990 was completely fermented and vinified in wooden cask. A golden hue of medium intensity marked the appearance. The bouquet does showed signs of age, although a faint note of cassis signaled survival. At 38 g/l the residual sugar content was considerably lower than in most of today’s Spätlesen, giving brisk acidity a fair crack of the whip. Still clinging on to life, albeit to the sour side of it.
