Score 95/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jul 2008

The 1961 Barolo from Cantina Mascarello was masculine, powerful and impressively rich for a wine of this vintage, while the 1958 Barolo fared less well. The 1958 can be a legendary wine, but on this night the wine was exceedingly evolved.
