The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes is, as usual, more reserved at this early stage. Exhibiting notions of plums, dark berry fruit, sweet spices and toasted bread, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and seamless, with bright acids and a long, resonant finish.

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes, which contains a little whole bunch, has a tightly-wound bouquet with dark berry fruit, incense and touches of sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with an edgy, peppery entry. Quite structured for a Vosne-Romanée, the finish is reminiscent of a Morey-Saint-Denis.

Cask sample. Mid cherry; ripe red and black fruits; structured, with zippy acidity defining the finish. (MH)
