Tasting notes
Opaque ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes black and blue fruit preserves, incense and pungent flowers, while hints of smoky minerals, vanilla and licorice add complexity. Stains the palate with sweet cherry-vanilla, blueberry and floral pastille flavors that are given lift and bite by zesty acidity and a hint of cracked pepper. Finishes on a gently tannic note, showing superb, spicy lift and floral-driven persistence.

(all new oak) Brilliant purple. Powerful, mineral-accented aromas of black and blue fruit liqueur and incense; exotic Asian spice and vanilla notes build in the glass. Stains the palate with primary, mineral-laced blueberry and cassis flavors, which are energized by cracked pepper and floral qualities that gain power with air. There's striking depth of flavor here but the wine comes off shockingly lithe. Closes sweet, broad and extremely long, with harmonious tannins building steadily.
