Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2014 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge opens to quite an earthy nose with notions of damp soil, dried leaves and wet pebbles over a core of cherries and mulberries with a touch of blackberries. Concentrated, full-bodied and plushly textured, it has tons of gregarious fruit, with bags of baking spices coming through on the long finish.

About the producer

Martinelli
Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
