Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2017-2025, Jancis Robinson MW, Jun 2016

89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot. Notes of cassis and dried herbs housed in lightly tactile tannins with balancing acidity and a persistent finish. An affordable expression of Napa Valley character with an even balance of oak use and regional, varietal character. Serve with food and consider decanting. GV (ECB)

A super attractive, mid-weight wine, the estate's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon offers up a classic expression of Rutherford. Sweet red cherry, iron, smoke and chocolate are all pushed forward, followed by a kick of energy that punctuates the finish. Exuberant and racy, with fabulous intensity, the 2013 is showing beautifully today. Despite its openness today, the 2013 has the pedigree to drink well for many years.
