Tasting notes
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, like the 2013, has 2% Cabernet Franc in the blend. The wine is dense purple, shows loamy soil notes, forest floor and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with cedar wood, fruitcake and vanilla. It is dense, full-bodied, powerful and ideal for drinking over the next 20 or so years.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is fabulous. Rich, racy and totally voluptuous in the glass, the 2012 flows with seemingly endless layers of fruit. This is a decidedly dark, powerful brooding 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon endowed with real class. Dark cherry jam, wild flowers, gravel, mint and dark spice meld into the unctuous, riveting finish.
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon stands out for its mid-palate intensity and pure volume. The addition of fruit from a second site across the road from Jericho Canyon gives the 2012 a bit more early appeal than these wines have had in the past. Dark red and black stone fruit, new leather, tobacco, smoke, menthol and licorice build to the intense, racy finish.
