Tasting notes
The 2015 Barolo Tradizione is a soft, supple wine to drink now and over the next few years. Although not exciting or complex, the 2015 offers good balance and modest quality, with none of the hard, awkward notes that affected previous releases. Sweet floral and spiced notes, along with hints of dried cherry, leather, licorice, smoke and tobacco, add an attractive upper register as the wine sits in the glass.

This is a classic expression of Nebbiolo that will appeal to people who want the complexity and depth of aged Nebbiolo without too much extra hassle or intellectual effort. The 2015 Barolo Tradizione is a subdued wine with direct, clean lines followed by pretty tones of wild berry, dried cherry, licorice and balsam herb. I noticed an evident menthol-like signature in most of these new releases from Marchesi di Barolo, and you immediately sense it here too.
A vivid and bright perfume to this beautiful young Barolo with cherries and roses galore. Full body, very firm and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Linear and refined. Drink from 2022.
