Tasting notes
Very dark. Modern rather flattering nose full of fruit (not much mulch!). Rather smooth, modern winemaking but using the Piemontese raw ingredients as a base. This wine could bridge the gap between drinkability and typicality. Rather fast fade though. (JR)

(a blend from six different vineyards in three communes) Good dark red. Slightly porty aromas of plum, menthol, mocha and nutty oak. Juicy and firm, with nicely integrated acidity framing the sweet flavors of plum, blackberry and chocolate. A fairly thick and ripe wine, finishing with sweet fruit and broad, dusty tannins.
Pel issero's 2004 Barbaresco Nubiolaoffers a more focused personality, with expressive aromatics and pretty notes of crushed flowers, spices, menthol and ripe red fruits. this is made in sinewy, taut style, yet it offers outstanding length and elegant tannins.
