Tasting notes
The 1998 Sigalas Rabaud seems a bit fatigued on the nose following the 1997. The bouquet offers light orange zest, lanolin, walnut and earthy aromas. The palate is well-balanced and superior to the aromatics: mandarin, tangerine and quince notes that taper towards the finish. Fortunately, the acidity keeps everything on an even keel. It's not the most memorable Sigalas Rabaud I have drunk; it is more par for the course. Tasted at the Sigalas Rabaud vertical at the winery.

Medium gold colored, the 1998 Sigalas Rabaud is a little closed on the nose, sporting lemongrass, fresh straw and lime leaves notes with peach preserves and beeswax hints. Rich, unctuous and with relatively soft acid on the palate, it has plenty of understated, quite serious layers and great length.
