Tasting notes
(60% new oak; mostly from St. Helena and Howell Mountain fruit): Dark ruby-red. Ripe, fresh aromas of blueberry, cassis, minerals and herbs. Plush and sweet but youthfully restrained, with a velvety texture to the dark fruit and dark chocolate flavors. Distinctly tight today but the finish is smooth, offering dusty tannins, good lift and a lingering element of baking spices.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a plush, generous wine bursting with dark red and black fruit, sweet spices and licorice. Layers of fruit build towards the generous, enveloping finish. In 2009 the main vineyards winemaker Laurie Hook used for this blend were Home in St. Helena, and Bancroft Ranch and Steinhauer on Howell Mountain. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Tel. (707) 963-7115
