Score 92/100 · Drink 2013-2023, Robert Parker, Jun 2013

Chuck Wagner’s 2003 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon comes from such appellations as Rutherford, St. Helena, Atlas Peak, Mt. Veeder and Napa Valley. It is blended after 16 months of aging rather than before, which is an unusual practice. A dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by attractive, sexy aromas of jammy cassis, plums and spice. The wine offers plenty of richness and power as well as supple, silky tannins and an opulent personality. Drink it over the next decade. Tel. (707) 963-5958

Good ruby-red. Currant, plum, mocha, cola and sweet oak scents on the nose; showed blackberry and cassis with aeration, as well as a whiff of oak char. At once juicy and creamy in the mouth, with firm acids framing the supple red fruit and tobacco flavors. The sweet finish features fine-grained, building tannins.
