Tasting notes
Quite a pale rim on transparent garnet. Rather open nose that developed spiciness with time. Very sweet and charming with round red-cherry fruit but without the structure of some. The framework is already well filled-in with fruit in this wine. (JR)

The 2017 Volnay Clos des Angles 1er Cru shows quite a bit of reduction on the nose tasting it from barrel. The palate is more compact than the Volnay Premier Cru, more muscular, although I find it needs a little more grace towards the finish. Give this two or three years once in bottle.
Wafting from the glass with beautiful aromas of rose petal, violets, cherries and raspberries, the 2017 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Angles is medium-bodied, ample and charming, with an exuberantly expressive core of pure, succulent fruit, framed by fine, chalky tannins.
