The 2017 Barolo Vigna Lazzairasco is an attractive wine to drink now and over the next handful of years, give or take. Already quite forward, the 2017 is super-expressive today, but it also comes across as a bit faded and light in overall structure.

Serralunga d'Alba – Lazzarito. Just mid ruby with watery rim. Minerally, crushed-stones nose with notes of raspberry coulis. Elegant and youthful, sweet raspberry fruit with a rich layer of powdery tannins and a long nerve of ripe acidity. Not ready yet. (WS)
