Lovely discreet and subtle on the coolish/stony nose the 7.5% alcohol 2013 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese #5 reveals very fine and flinty slate and precise lime fruit aromas leading to an intense and juicy, sweet and very piquant, very pure and salty palate with aromas of ripe nectarines and structured by its racy acidity. This rather aristocratic wine is so stimulatingly pure and salty, so nicely piquant as well as intense and almost lush in its juicy fruitiness, that it should have an enormous aging potential of 20 or 30 years.

Quite broad and funky on the nose. Then a great spread of lime and that carved sensation again (see Kabinett Nr 3). Extraordinary presence on the palate for a wine with so little alcohol. Tingle and sinew. Very refined finish. (JR)
