Pale pink salmon-colored, the NV Champagne 1er Cru Brut Rosé is equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and has 6% vin rouge in the blend. It reveals notes of fresh strawberries, peaches, fresh pastry dough, and a fluffy mousse. Crisp, refreshing, and approachable, I love where this highly charming wine is now, so enjoy it over the next few years.

The nose of the NV Champagne Brut Rosé is fruity and floral, perfumed with rose petal and ripe strawberry. The palate is fruit forward as well, with ripe raspberry and juicy tangerine. This rosé is so juicy and approachable, it casts a large net, but it isn’t terribly complex. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.

Entirely sourced in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the NV Brut Rosé Premier Cru is a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, of which 7% is added as serious, barrel-fermented red wine to give the color. Assembling the 2012 and 2014 vintages, it is dosed with seven grams per liter and comes on the palate as a very clear, delicate, fresh and remarkably elegant rosé with lovely purity and precision. It's a great mix of generous fruit and chalky finesse.

The NV Brut Rose is a fairly taut, energetic wine that impresses for its length and fine overall balance. Cool, chalky notes frame sweet red berries, flowers and mint in this pure, impeccable Champagne. The blend is 47% Chardonnay, 46% Pinot Noir and 7% Pinot Meunier, from vineyards in Mareuil sur Ay, vintages 2008 (47%) and 2007 (53%). Dosage is 7.2 grams per liter. Disgorged May 3, 2011. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014. I was very impressed with the wines I tasted from Hebrart this year. A Terry Theise Selection, imported by Skurnik Wines, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300
