2016 Von Winning Sauvignon Blanc I

Based on contract fruit from Deidesheim and Kallstadt as well as estate fruit from the Deidesheimer Paradiesgarten, and raised primarily in 500-liter barrels, this wine once again represents the sweet spot in Von Winning’s trio of Sauvignons. Its sense of density is allied to animating brightness, and wood exposure has not dried the juiciness on a finish that combines both pungent and cooling herbal influences with honeydew melon, gooseberry, lime and smoky, saline savor.
