Tasting notes
The 2010 Milcampos Vinas Viejas comes from vines planted in 1930 and raised in French and American oak barrels. The nose is bashful at first with subtle black cherry, iodine and violet scents, but the palate is simply divine with filigree tannins and an effortless, pure, poised finish that cleanses the mouth and leaves you yearning for that next drop. Outstanding. Drink 2013-2020. Juan Ayuso is the winemaker at Bodegas La Milagrosa and he oversees a very commendable range, wines that are suffused with freshness, fine tannins and verve. As far as I am aware, only the excellent El Tallar is brought into the United States, but I hope more will follow.
