Tasting notes
Bright medium red. Aromas of redcurrant, spices and dried flowers complicated by licorice and menthol. Smooth and plush in the middle, but with very good verve and definition to the intense red berry and licorice flavors. Concentrated, nicely balanced Brunello with smooth tannins, classic dryness and very good finishing lift and length.

The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is a big wine loaded with personality. Sweet dark cherries, licorice, smoke and leather burst from the glass in this explosive, rich Brunello. Layers of flavor develop with air, filling out the wine's broad-shouldered frame very nicely. Firm tannins support the generous finish. This is a fabulous showing from Mastrojanni. The Brunello was fermented in cement and aged in cask for 36 months.
