Tasting notes
One of the most recognized bottles from Italy's Veneto region, this is a hearty, hot-vintage red blend made with air-dried fruit. The Masi 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Costasera shows baked fruit aromas of black cherry confit or blackcurrant preserves. There is some stickiness and sweetness to go along with those robust flavors, along with a powerful 15% alcohol content. With 650,000 bottles made, this wine is easy to locate.

The 2017 Amarone Classico Costasera is intense, with masses of dried black cherries and mocha complicated by spiced citrus rinds and a dusting of cocoa. This is a total pleasure on the palate, seamlessly silky and elegant with a spicy core of red fruits. The 2017 tapers off with tremendous length, staining the palate in youthful concentration yet remaining completely fresh.
