Dark red. Reticent nose hints at dark berries, flowers, mint and nutty oak; almost medicinal following the Saint-Georges. Tightly wound and a bit ungiving today; in a distinctly austere stage. With less apparent mid-palate volume, the finish seems tough, even bitter-edged.

Good ruby-red color. Pungent spices and cassis on the nose. Dense and primary, with taut flavors of crushed cassis, dark cherry and herbs. Finishes a bit dry and ungiving but persistent. Shows the tougher side of the vintage. Forey nearly always bottles this last and this vintage certainly needs more elevage
