Tasting notes
Partially raised in small barrels, the NV Champagne Blanc De Blancs Les Jardins Du Mesnil Extra Brut has a bright straw/yellow color and opens to ripe aromas of fresh pineapple, yellow flowers, wet stones, and almond pastry. The full-bodied palate reveals a good deal of refinement, with a glossy texture of citrus oil coating the palate, and it has a rounded mousse and a rather long finish. It is drinking very well now and should continue to improve over the coming 6-8 years. Disgorged in September 2023, with 3 grams per liter dosage.

The NV Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Les Jardins Du Mesnil Extra Brut offers more depth and richness, with a higher proportion (30%) of reserve wine added to the blend to complement the 2017 vintage. It lifts from the glass with brioche, almond, and tropical aromas of green pineapple. Full-bodied and rounded, with vanillin and custardy oak spice, it displays sweet fruit through the mid-palate, with its mineral edge holding it all together. It’s a very charming and approachable wine to drink 2024-2038. The dosage is 2.5 grams per liter.
This release of the NV Champagne Les Jardins du Mesnil Extra Brut is based on the 2016 vintage and was disgorged in May of 2021. It was raised in 30% wood barrels with the remainder in stainless steel. Fresh notes of lime blossom and wet stone are followed by a dry, citrus-driven palate with green apple and lemon balm. Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Based on the 2015 vintage, complemented by some 20% reserve wines from 2014, the NV Brut Nature Les Jardins du Mesnil was disgorged in February 2021. Exhibiting aromas of citrus zest, nougat, white flowers and wet stones, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and precise, with lively acids and a seamless profile, complemented by an attractive pinpoint mousse.
