30- to 70-year-old vines. 16 hectares. Crumbling granite and ancient schist soils. Vigorous canopy management. No use of chemicals, no use of sulphur. Very low yield. Minimal intervention. Whole bunch. Refrigerated before carbonic maceration. Open tanks and 50-hl concrete tanks soaked with CO2. Indigenous yeasts. Aged on fine lees for six to nine months in old wood (foudres and barrels). Tiny amount of SO2 at bottling. Light crimson. Fragrant and starting to show complexity – not just red fruits but also a herbal and more savoury and rocky edge and a touch meaty (but not bretty). Although it was quite delicate on the nose, it has real depth and substance on the palate. Juicy, finely spiced and super-fine tannic texture. A really complete wine, already giving pleasure but more to come. (JH)

The freshness and balance to this are very impressive with floral and berry character. Medium-bodied, clean and crisp. Lovely center palate of lemons and strawberries. Balanced and very pretty. Drink now. Made from organic grapes.

Vivid ruby. Vibrant red and dark berry and Asian spice aromas carry a hint of musky earth. Sweet and incisive, offering palate-staining blackberry and boysenberry flavors and a late touch of bitter chocolate. Supple tannins give shape to the mineral-driven, sharply focused finish, which hangs on with excellent tenacity and building sweetness. (JR)
