Tasting notes
(13% natural alcohol): Straw-yellow. Sexy, soil-driven aromas of white plum, quince, pear, cinnamon and dried herbs. A compellingly pure expression of terroir on the palate, more about pungent salty minerality and spices than fruit. Not at all overly ripe for such a warm, early vintage. This penetrating, deep Corton-Charlemagne finishes with lovely rising length and calcaire energy.

The 2015 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru was a little subdued on the nose when I tasted it from barrel, perhaps closed down for the winter? The palate is well balanced with lime cordial and a touch of orange zest, moderate weight in the mouth with a pinch of ginger on the finish. It finally seems to awaken at the end!
