Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2007 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots from Jean Grivot has an easy-going, open, leather-tinged red berry nose, quite earthy after five minutes in the glass, the fruit having receded a while ago. The palate is medium-bodied with mature, degraded tannin. Notes of bay leaf and black tea infuse the vestiges of red fruit, whilst the tannins provide a little more structure than its peers, bestowed with a persistent finish that shows decent substance. Enjoy this now and over the next 6-9 years. Tasted November 2016.

Tasted blind. Mid bright ruby. Some gaminess and crystallised violets. Tannins are a little dry but there is very assertive fruit. (JR)

Bright ruby red. Smoky notes on the nose with some opulence round the edges. Very firm undergrowth flavours. Vigorous and still structured. A slow-burning 2007! (JR)

Medium red. Slightly reduced aromas of redcurrant and minerals. Suave, sweet and pliant, but with good life to the flavors of redcurrant, smoke and minerals. Not especially complex but offers solid density and structure.
