Tasting notes
The latest rendition of a bottling Pernot has produced sine 1973, the 2017 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru La Pièce Sous Le Bois offers up attractive aromas of blanched almonds, white flowers and fresh apple, followed by a medium-bodied palate that's bright and chiseled, with less flesh on its bones than the other Pernot premiers crus, reflecting its high altitude location.

Bright lemon-yellow color. More exotic yellow fruits on the nose, along with an element of smoky oak (about 20% new in 2017). In a distinctly fatter style than the village Puligny, offering good concentration and a suggestion of honeyed ripeness to its ripe yellow fruit flavors. A bit more phenolic and less refined on the finish, but shows good length and a firm stony underpinning.
