Tasting notes
Medium ruby, the 2018 Pinot Noir Two Birds Estate is bursting with cranberry sauce, rhubarb and blueberries with notes of mushroom, dusty earth and aniseed. The palate is lovely, with a fine balance of bright, juicy flavors, spicy accents, grainy tannins and bursts of freshness that call you back again and again on the long, layered finish.

There are two black labeled Reserve level Pinot Noirs from this estate. The 2018 Pinot Noir Two Birds Estate Vineyard offers up a denser ruby, almost opaque color to go with a beautiful, youthful, and unevolved bouquet of ripe red and black fruits, scorched earth, toasted spices, and assorted floral nuances. It’s another medium-bodied, concentrated, youthful Pinot Noir from Arista that will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and should have 10-12 years of overall longevity.
The 2018 Pinot Noir Two Birds is a gorgeous, effusive wine. A whole range of floral, spice and citrus notes give the 2018 its deeply pitched aromatics. Intense and layered, the 2018 is a Pinot of real substance that reflects the more refined style Arista has taken with the 2018s. The results are evident.
