Tasting notes
35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier. Aged on lees for at least three years. Lovely toastiness on the nose. Baked-apple fruit with more concentration that you might usually get from a standard non-vintage. Long, savoury finish – this is really classic, and I like the dosage, giving a lick of honey and weight to the palate. Very enjoyable! (RH)

35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier. Primary fermentation and malo in stainless steel. Three years sur latte, dosage 7 g/l. Golden Delicious apples. Linear. Bright lemon acidity. Understated and neat. Ticks all the right boxes without being particularly exciting. (TC)
The latest release of Joseph Perrier's NV Brut Cuvée Royale is showing well, revealing a generous bouquet of ripe apples, mandarin, warm biscuits and subtle hints of honeycomb. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and rounded, with a generous core of fruit, ripe acids and a youthfully frothy mousse. It's testimony to the progress made at Joseph Perrier in the last decade.
An attractive, yellow-citrus style with plenty of zesty acidity on the palate. The drive and richness here are impressive. Drink now.
