Tasting notes
The 2022 Syrah California is one of the standout values of the vintage. Depending on the site, the wine incorporates 30-70% whole clusters. It opens to a gorgeous, savory perfume lifting from the glass, with classic aromas of black plum, pancetta, crushed violets, and turned earth. Moving seamlessly to the palate, it’s ripe yet weightless, with a medium to full-bodied frame and plush tannins. This fantastically balanced wine floats off the palate, and while it’s delicious now, it will hold on over the coming 6-7 years.

Bedrock's entry-level 2022 Syrah is sourced from declassified fruit from vineyards including Hudson in Napa Valley and Bien Nacido, White Hawk and Nolan in Santa Barbara County. Fermented with 40% to 50% whole clusters and matured in puncheons and foudres, it opens with soaring violet perfume and wafts of blackcurrant, pepper, mint chocolate and charcuterie. The medium-bodied palate offers floral flavors structured by rounded tannins and juicy acidity, and it has a long, easygoing finish.
