Tasting notes
The 2018 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard, inky purple-black in the glass, has very pretty aromas of blueberries, boysenberries, pure violets, cast iron, beef drippings and aniseed, with more nuances emerging after time in the glass. The full-bodied palate has surprising freshness, and although it packs in the perfumed fruits, it maintains lift and energy and finishes long and spicy.

The 2018 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard is wonderfully complex and nuanced. This St. Helena site, with its 24 co-planted varieties (both red and white) consistently produces wines of real character and pedigree, that is very much the case with the 2018. Perfumed floral overtones, tobacco, cedar, mint and licorice add striking shades of nuance to a core of deep Petite fruit. This is such a beautiful wine.
