(just two barrels of this juice, one of which was new) Complex nose melds ripe peach, orange blossom, spices, flowers and nut oil; showing more oak influence than the premier crus. Boasts excellent intensity and concentration, with good mineral lift giving energy to the soft citrus flavors. Strong and full, but with the 50% new oak component currently suppressing the fruit somewhat. Perhaps best today on the sexy, very long and energetic finish.

Palish yellow. Cool aromas of lemon, lime and musky minerality. Then almost surprisingly ripe in the mouth, with fruit salad flavors nicely framed and enlivened by ripe acidity. The acids seem to build on the back, and the wine's saline minerality gives the finish a tactile quality and impressive hang time. The balance of this wine reminded me of an Alsace vendange tardive Again, I may be underestimating this.
