The 1997 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, which was 50% de-stemmed, is a wine that I have not tasted for several years. It has a tertiary, earthy bouquet and yet is still very delineated, the fruit profile a little darker than I expected. There is very good tension if not depth on the palate. Not the most complex Bonnes-Mares Christophe Roumier ever made but well balanced with a slight stemminess coming through and speaking a bit too vociferously on the finish. Tasted at the Roumier vertical in London.
