Tasting notes
Subtle nose. Neat, well-balanced chalky-textured palate entry. Fine balance between fruit and moderate acidity. I don't think this will last as long as some and it's a bit lighter than some vintages. Attractive notes of molten honey on the finish. This would make a fine aperitif. (JR)

100% Chenin Blanc. Picking the 12-ha Clos de Mosny was by hand in successive tries , with a further grape-by-grape manual sorting prior to pressing. Yields averaged just 25 hl/ha. Fermentation for six months in bordellais barriques (30% new) at the naturally cool temperatures of the cellar before continuing to mature in oak until bottling in late summer. Winemaker Jacky Blot. TA 3 g/l, pH 3.35, RS 6 g/l. Available from 36 branches including WaitroseCellar.com. More complex than the Carême Spring Vouvray Sec 2018, but does it deliver more pleasure? More intellectual, perhaps, but for the moment pretty uncompromisingly chewy. Even austere with heavy oak influence. Needs patience! (JR)
Chenin Blanc. Delicious spicy oak on the nose, vibrant apple and lemon fruit, smoke and honey on the finish with a bright lemon-zest acidity cleansing the palate. Full and fleshy, with satisfying breadth and concentration. (RH)
