The nose of the 2019 Brézé is richly fruited and creamy, showing tropical pineapple characters and giving the impression of opulence. It is concentrated and powerful with real intensity of flavor. Well-judged oak use lends a smoky, spice note while acidity and salinity pull it all together. This is dry Chenin Blanc at its best—ripe, powerful and fresh.

While the 2017 recalls a Grand Cru Montrachet, the 2019 seems closer to excellent Premier Cru Chablis. Fine, crystalline, with lime and ripe lemon with hints of wet stone. It lacks the opulence of the 2017, but delivers energy and pleasing palate tension. Try with scallops in a cream sauce or quality raw oysters. Medium finish. 30% new oak
