Tasting notes
Even better, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy has a similar vibe in its ripe blue fruits, graphite, crushed stone, and floral aromatics. These carry to a medium to full-bodied, incredibly pure, sweetly fruited, and balanced 2017 offering impressive tannins and a great finish. It's a beautiful, elegant 2017 to enjoy over the coming 15 years or so.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy is rich, dark and intense, with slightly earthier, spicier notes that emerge from the glass. The Grand Daddy also has quite a bit of tannin, but the three To Kalon Cabernets are essentially variations on a theme, and in 2017, not as differentiated as they often are. The 2017 really blossoms on the palate.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy reveals expressive notions of dried mulberries, warm cassis, plum preserves and kirsch with hints of spice cake, menthol, fallen leaves and mossy bark. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with earth-laced black and blue fruits, framed by grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with a provocative perfume.
