Tasting notes
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The O.G. is just about pure perfection and has everything you look for in a great wine. Sporting a healthy ruby/purple hue as well as a stunning array of crème de cassis, blueberries, spring flowers, graphite, and violets, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, an ultra-pure, seamless, elegant mouthfeel, and beautifully integrated, ripe, polished tannins. It's mix of vibrancy and richness is truly something, and this could come from nowhere else in the world. I love it today, yet it has another two decades of longevity ahead of it.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The O.G. is the most delicate, layered and silky of Mark Carter's three Cabernets from Andy Beckstoffer's To-Kalon vineyard. Floral, lifted and precise, the O.G. captures the essence of Clone 337 in its silky fruit and open, caressing personality. All the elements are very nicely balanced.
The sensational 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The O.G. boasts classic notes of crème de cassis, licorice, incense and a whiff of new oak. Full-bodied with ripe tannin, adequate acidity and beautiful exuberance and personality, it should be drunk over the next 10-15 years.
(clone 337; from vines planted in the 1980s): Bright ruby. Knockout nose combines cassis, boysenberry, violet, spices, mocha and tobacco. Plush, sweet and fat with fruit; suggests an almost roasted ripeness to its kirsch and spice flavors without coming across as stewy. Really compellingly rich and powerful wine with the serious tannic clout to support a long life in bottle.
