Tasting notes
Sourced from vines averaging 70 years old (up to 100 years old), at the foot of Meursault Village, not far from Charmes, the 2021 Murgey de Limozin opens with expressive aromas of orange oil, crisp green orchard fruit and pear, layered with white flowers and a touch of clear honey. Subtle notes of wheat toast, toasted almonds and freshly baked brioche bring depth and warmth to the bouquet. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping, with a satiny, seamless texture. A generous core of white fruit and sweet citrus is framed by lively, mouthwatering acidity that keeps the wine vibrant and precise. There is a gentle pastry-cream richness at the mid-palate, yet the wine remains balanced and energetic, finishing long, chalky and finely toasted. Entering its drinking window beautifully now, this is a splendid, Meursault-inflected Bourgogne Blanc that will offer great pleasure over the next 3–5 years.
