Tasting notes
From a hot, dry year with harvest on August 26, the 2022 Condrieu Coteau De Vernon is more expressive than the 2023, with exotic honeyed orange, flowers, chalky minerality, and spice. It's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, focused mouthfeel, wonderfully integrated acidity, and a great finish. This is an elegant, seamless, oh, so impressive Condrieu. Drink 2026-2036.

Perfumed white peach, ripe apricot, lemon peel, cumin spice, linden blossom and shy pastry introduce the 2022 Condrieu Côteau de Vernon. Wet stone and jasmine add more aromatic intrigue. Full-bodied and expressive, the 2022 is a magnificent Côteau de Vernon, slightly richer than the 2023 tasted alongside, bringing the profile into clarity with well-set persistence on the decidedly complex finish.
This is the most aromatically restrained Condrieu in this (Yapp Brothers) line-up and seems a bit closed at the moment. Orange blossom and peel, toast, brioche and a mineral note. It's fairly oily and quite rich; could use some more time. (JRL)
