Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2025-2027, Jancis Robinson MW, Mar 2025

Mainly Cinsault and Grenache plus 6 other varieties, all estate-grown. Hand-picked, whole bunches gently pressed in a Coquard press so as not to extract much colour, then fermented in stainless steel. Full malo – a hallmark of this cuvée. Certified organic and biodynamic (Biodyvin). When Régine Sumeire first vinified her Pétale de Rose in 1985, it was said to be the first of its kind, it was so pale. Today, the colour looks dark compared to several barely pink Provence rosés, but that's not a bad thing. On the contrary, this pale pink actually has red-fruit flavour, bolstered further by its silky texture. At the same time, the acidity is bright and refreshing, so the wine feels both substantial and refreshing. Well done. (TQT)
