Tasting notes
Sweet spot Outstanding - A slightly riper nose freely offers up its combination of honeysuckle, spice and a vague suggestion of the exotic. Once again there is a really lovely texture and very good density to the medium-bodied, caressing and punchy flavors that deliver superb persistence on the saline-infused, dry and impeccably well-balanced finale. This is a stunner of a Pucelles and a wine to buy. Drink 2033+

Clear pale lemon. Immediate class on the nose, a pure white fruit with just the right degree of sunshine to make it satisfying. Electricity on the palate, energetic fresh limestone, some ripe citrus persisting behind. Henri tells me that Pucelles came in with both the highest sugar level and the highest acidity.
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru shows why this site is so highly regarded. Bright and vibrant, with notable energy, the Pucelles has so much to offer. Brisk acids and driving structure shape this taut, beautifully nervy Puligny.
About the producer

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
